St Hilda’s Warm Roof Appeal
We are delighted to have the Scaffolding down and be on the last leg of this significant journey in St Hilda’s history
The roof is sporting handsome green slates on the south side whcih is the main view of the church and people are noticing it too . We are seeign the chruch as close to the orginal concept as anyone in the last 100 years. Old slates have been conserved on the north side and much of the remaing slate will be recylcled too.
Many thanks to all who have supproted and encouraged us – especially our local donors and major grant funders ‘National Heritage Memorial Fund/ Listed Places of of Roof Repair Fund’, and ‘Viridor Credits’
We’ve worked hard fundraising for 17 years, Our local appeal in teh last year has raised £21,000 toward a total of £25,000 locally and we hope to riase the whoel 25 ,000 to complete the project. Will you help us with this last stage of the journey?

St Hilda’s is a hub for so many people – ‘the Undercroft’ is dedicated to community activities all week — you may have voted there in recent elections; so many people enjoy the beautiful worship space when attending events such as those which happen at the Brockley Max in addition to Sundays, Baptisms, funerals, weddings, and special Christmas services. We host school visits and assemblies too.
Or send a cheque made payable to ‘St Hilda’s Parochial Church Council’ marked ‘WRRF’ (Warm Roof and Restoration fund ) on the back, and include a note of your full name, address and postcode, phone number and e-mail address.
